Organic saffron from the High Atlas and more particularly from the Taliouine region in Morocco is undoubtedly the best saffron in the world. 90% of the world production of saffron is made in Iran that of Morocco still remains above the lot in terms of crocin (the color), picrocrocin and safranal (Organic compounds of saffron which are responsible for the specific taste of saffron ).
 
Taliouine saffron is the only organic saffron from the African continent of superior quality and with a coloring power 50% higher than that of saffron from Iran. Dark red in color, brick, the red gold of Morocco is aptly named.
